Has YouTube Taken The Power Away From Article Directories?

Unless you've spent the last couple of years on another planet or in the back of beyond you'll know all about YouTube. It's got so popular that even people that haven't got internet access can watch videos from it on T.V programs.

So with all this video content, and more and more marketers using it to promote and sell their products has it taken away from the power of article directories? I don't this will ever happen and for these 4 reasons.

1. Making videos takes times and a good visual eye, the internet and YouTube has moved on. Make an amateur video that's made up of only 15 seconds of a sales letter isn't going to cause a big stir for your business, (by the way I'm not making this up I've seen videos like this.) Plus if it very bad and amateurish, what do you think the chances are of that person clicking through to your site probably zilch!

But anyone can write an article I don't care how bad your writing is, if it has a good headline and gives great content that I can use, there's a better chance that I'll read it all and feel more inclined to visit your site.

2. Video hasn't taken over from the written word; if it did we'd never pick up another paper or magazine and stay glued to our T.V for information.

Take e-mail as another example, how many of the big boys are sending you e-mails in video? None. They may send you to a video on a landing page or whatever but they always use the written word in an e-mail to get you excited and get you to take that action.

3. At the moment search engines can't read or index videos only the headline and text summary that goes with it. If you don't say what the videos about the search won't have a clue.

But with articles the search engines love them and scan them quickly looking for the content and keywords that make up the article to find out what its about, making it easier to get indexed in the search engines results.

4. With the internet having so much information on it (while I know not all of its great information) we've become less patient in our surfing habits.

For example which would you rather do, sit through a 5 minute video that's only got good information at the end of it

OR

Do a quick scan through an article and pick the information that you need from it and move on. (If you're like me you're the second option, if you're not..this will change.)

As I finish this article am I saying "No" to using video as a way to grow your business and just stick to writing articles?

Definitely not, video should be used as an extra traffic generating source "Yes" it can pull in great numbers to your site but if its done badly and not attention grabbing you shouldn't expect your web host to contact you about your bandwidth problems.

Instead, get that keyboard out and start typing your articles it's faster, cheaper, and a lot easier to do than making videos.

And when you're finished writing it and you're looking to submit it to article directories, drop by http://www.ItWasSoEasy.com now and give us a copy of it. We'd love to showcase it for you and help drive traffic and increase your website profits but first make it unique and you will see even greater results.

The 3 Most Important On-Page Optimization Tips For Your Website

Ranking high in search engines is every webmaster's dream. If your website was to be ranked in the top 3 positions for a given keyword, your website will be flooded with highly targeted traffic for free.

In the world of search engine rankings, your ultimate goal is to land the first spot in search results using a targeted keyword. One way to do that is on-page optimization. Lets see how you can do this.

On-page optimization refers to the improvement of both content and structure of the website so you can have better a chance of improving your page rank. There are numerous techniques available, but it does not mean that everything is actually applicable.

There are unethical practices known as Black Hat strategies which are frowned upon. Using those techniques will hurt your website on the long run. Thus, if you do not want to hurt your rank and even your reputation, here are some excellent techniques in on-page optimization which I highly suggest you follow.

1. Keep relevancy in your content. One of the major reasons why other websites would want to link to your website which in turn brings you a massive amount of traffic is because of your content. Another way to do this is to use your articles, and use a number of high-ranking keywords. Their purpose is to allow your article to show up once Internet users utilize your keywords in searching for information. The idea is to get your articles to appear on the first page of search results for a set of keywords that are relevant to your website.

When writing articles and playing with keywords, keep in mind that they should be relevant to the articles that you are writing about. As much as possible, your content should appear natural. Place your keywords at the right places. Most of all, do not over-stuff them. Not only does it make your copies sound incomprehensible, but you will likely get punished by search engines because of such technique. Remember to use keywords sparingly.

2. Validate your HTML. There are a number of disadvantages when you do not double-check your HTML code. One of these is you will never rank well in search engine results. What's more, your website appears disoriented in some of the Internet browsers. There are many tools on the internet that will check your website for HTML errors. AnyBrowser is one of them.

To validate your HTML, you can also utilize a W3C HTML validator. All you need to do is to place your URL in it and allow the application to analyze your HTML codes and your HTML structure. In the end, it can give you a list of errors that you may have done in your webpages. You can then come up with the best solution to your problems.

3. Use for bold text in your heading tags. Here's why. One of the most effective ways to rank well with a particular keyword is to place it in your heading.

If your website is about Cats then place the word "Cat" in the heading of your website before your first paragraph. This is because search engine spiders "read" your content from top to bottom. And thus if you use bold text at the top of your web page you will have a better chance of getting a higher rank. However, to further increase your chances, set the keyword in bold. Spiders will view your keyword as highly relevant to the theme of your website which in turn will help you rank better.

There you have it. Those 3 strategies will help you optimize your website "on page".

Does Article Marketing Work?

I am a person who is interested in all aspects of search engine optimisation, web promotion and web marketing. I have to admit that I am a bit of a geek as I love to read through the seo forums. I learn quite a lot from these forums however am also, at times, left feeling a little bemused. I can never quite get my head around the amount of people that criticise article marketing. In this article, I am going to be sticking up for writing articles as a form of website promotion by explaining why I believe article marketing works.

The days of buying links to get you to the top of the search engine rankings has gone. Excessive reciprocal linking has also been banished to the wayside. The importance of obtaining one-way links, links that are not paid for, has never been so apparent.

Writing an article and submitting it to a couple of article directories costs nothing. The article should be around three to find hundred words in length, it should be original and of use to any reader.

I am fully aware that the main links that people gain via article marketing are quite poor, however if you stick with it for long enough, you are bound to obtain a few decent ones as well.

I have been writing and submitting about five articles per week for the last three years now and the results have been quite outstanding.

I am going to continue on this trend and would advise other people to start writing articles as a free and easy way to rise up the rankings. It is quite simple, the more articles you write, the more products you will sell. Good luck and I hope article marketing proves as beneficial to you as it has for me.

Productive Article Marketing - Revealed - 4 Huge Ways to Make Money with Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the most powerful tools in generating traffic for your website and building your online reputation without the need to shell out your precious dimes. You just need to write and syndicate your articles to earn quality inbound links and improve your search engine ranking.

Here are the 4 huge ways to make money with article marketing:

1. Learn how to stir attention online. The first step that you need to take is to ensure that your articles will generate interest and attention online otherwise, they will be left unread. Kick-start your articles by using compelling and attention-grabbing titles to effectively move online users to open and read your content. Keep your titles short and direct to the point. Also, don't forget to communicate the readers' benefits on your headlines to give online users more reasons to invest their time in reading your content.

2. Pack your articles with useful information. Before you write your articles, collect all the information that you think will be useful in making your readers fully understand your ideas. Never leave any information out and present them in a logical manner so you can easily get your message across.

3. Distribute your articles. In submitting your articles online, it is important that you choose the best publishing sites that can give your articles the exposure they need. As you know, there are only few article submission sites that are indexed by Google and are highly visited. Some of them are the following: ezinearticles, goarticles, articleally, and buzzle dot com.

4. Syndicate your articles through your RSS feed. One of the great ways to connect to your potential clients through your articles is by incorporating them on your RSS. By doing so, you can still provide your target market with information they need even if they don't have the time to search the internet for your content.

Article Marketing - A Secret That Gets a Few Disproportionately Large Amounts of Targeted Traffic

Don't we all wish we could fall out of an apple truck and get rich? My personal favorite is finding the magic pill. This new software or this next program and *bam* I am going to be skating down easy street. And don't you love the word *secret*? When they tell you this little known secret, you will be in the big time.

Well it turns out in article marketing there is a little known secret, but I like to call it the dirty little secret, because it actually works in accordance with a universal principal. You reap what you sow, is the principle. You see, only 14% of authors on one major directory ever write more than 10 articles.

Now that might actually work if you create a new language that uses the English alphabet or if you were writing about a niche that has not yet been found by anyone. But for the rest of us, we need to write more articles.

According to one major directory, you are not even in the game until you have written 100 articles. They go on to say that you have to get to the 250 mark to start to see critical mass. Why is this a secret? Well, it's not really, but it sure seems like one since so few people seem to be doing it.

This is why I call it my dirty little secret. Most programs out there are still trying to sell the majority of us on some magic pill. They are afraid that if they told most of us the truth, we wouldn't get caught up in the hype, and their sales would suffer. The truth is if you start working hard, you begin to see the magic. Reminds me of a saying my stepfather use to say all the time, *The harder I work, the luckier I get.*

I will say that article marketing is a sound strategy, and if you really want to drive larger amounts of targeted traffic to your website, blog or to subscribe to your ezine, you will want to get excited about writing articles and getting them published in the article directories on the Internet.

Obtaining and Using Articles For Advancement

It's an established fact that good articles are the best way to advance your newsletter and/or website. Submitting one well written article can reach a great number of individuals. The growth in new subscribers and visitors you could rapidly gain is limitless. Why do articles produce such good results?

Included with each article is your 'resource box'. In a few informative lines, of well chosen text, you have the chance to arouse persons to subscribe to your newsletter or visit your web page. Once submitted your article could be seen by any number of persons each time with the resource box identifying you with an invitation to visit you site or sign up for your ezine. Through it's distribution, other web masters may display the article each time creating a link back to you. Submitting to newsletters with similar interests will increase the likelihood of new subscribers. Good articles enable you to build trust in yourself as an authority in your field.

But what if you are unable to write. You can hire a ghost writer to write the article for you and include your resource box with the article. There are many articles with Private License Rights that you can purchase. However, it would be wise to rewrite these so they remain fresh as there tends to be a flood of the same articles circulating the net and chances are your article may not be used.

You decide to hire someone, how do you find someone to write for you? How do you keep the cost minimal?

If you are just starting out in business, you may need to watch your expenses. An option would be to advertise on a message board to pay someone to write an article for you. Be sure to ascertain with the writer that you want to include your own resource box. This is a good place to start since you can offer the writer what you can afford to pay. Many beginning writers welcome the chance to work for pay. Post an ad offering $10.00 per article or negotiate a fee for a bundle of ten or more articles with the prospective author. Of course the price you offer would be determined by the length of the article.

Here are two forum sites where you could start looking:

Warriorforum.com At the warrior forum there is a message board where writers post their articles. Try posting an ad offering to pay someone to write articles for you.

ezboard.com Do a search through ezboard's large worldwide message boards. You can find a board under 'article writing.'You could also search the topic on which you want an article written and post for a someone there who could write the article.

There are many sites on the net that have freelance writers who do write articles. You can find these by searching for 'freelance writers', or try 'article writing'. Going this route could cost more, but the writers are generally well educated and experienced.

Google is a good search engine to use since is is easy to search within results. Try 'article writing' and then within those results you could search for 'freelance writers'. In this way you would narrow your search to freelance writers who write articles. Below are some sites I found when doing such a search.

freelancewriters.com
elance.com

If you have affiliates, many of these companies have written articles that you can use and will allow you to use your own resource box. Be sure these articles are not already over used. You want to keep the articles you submit fresh.

Your newsletter and/or web page is going to increase more quickly if you submit well written articles to other newsletters and web sites. You will benefit in several ways.

Your affiliates will have a better chance of producing revenue.

Businesses which pay for sponsor ads like to place their ads in newsletters with a large subscriber base.

You will be building trust and branding yourself as an authority in your field on the worldwide web.

So you can see now the importance of using articles to gain recognition for your your business. A small investment in well written articles is well worth the cost when weighed against the many benefits received.

Lucrative Article Marketing - Revealed - 6 Intriguing Secrets to Excel With Article Marketing

Most successful webmasters agree that their websites will not be as popular and well visited if they have not utilized article marketing. They consider this technique as an indispensable tool not only in product promotion but also in securing high ranking on major search engines.

Here are the 5 intriguing secrets to excel in article marketing:

1. Use attention-grabbing titles. To increase your clickthroughs, you have to make sure that your articles have intriguing and interesting headlines. What makes a great headline? It must be brief, direct to the point, keyword-rich, and it must be able to communicate the gist or summary of your articles.

2. Know the guidelines of most publishing sites and abide by them so your articles won't be rejected. Most article submission sites will not accept your articles if they contain blatant advertising, hyperlinks on the article body, have more than 3 URLs on the resource box, and if your articles are too short (less than 250 words) and contains inappropriate content.

3. Write articles that are relevant to what you are offering. Remember, you main goal in writing and submitting your articles is to sell your products. Thus, the best topics for your articles are the problems being faced by your target market so you can present your products as solution on your resource box.

4. Make sure that your articles are well-written. To give your readers great reading experience, make sure that your articles are easy to read, easy to understand, and flows well.

5. Pick the best publishing sites when submitting your articles. Go with articles submission sites that have high page ranking and frequently visited by online users.

6. Load your articles with relevant keywords. To make your articles easier to find online, make sure to insert keywords that are usually searched for by your potential readers.

Getting To Know Google

Having greatly benefited from my relationship with Google in the past several years, I am dedicating this article to the search engine superstar.

I have to be brutally honest and relay that our friendship hasn't always been rosy. I got to know Google several years back, when it was just a small fish in a big pond. I started to analyze its every move and realized that Google is a fickle, clever and extremely mysterious being. Still, I decided to get more acquainted. Here are a few things I learned along the way.

When it comes to logic, Google is the queen

In other words, avoid participating in anything that may blacklist you from this search engine, including keyword stuffing, link farms and hosting 50 "sister" sites on the same server. Keyword stuffing doesn't refer merely to the content of your site, but also the alt tags, headers, URLs and any additional areas of your web site.

Google likes to stay focused

When optimizing the individual pages of your Web site, try to hone in on one or two relevant keywords per Web page. Analyze each page and identify which keyword would be most suitable.

If you decide to optimize for two keywords per page, make sure that they are similar in context. For example, if you are optimizing for the key phrase "insurance leads," you may also consider optimizing for "insurance sales leads" within the same page.

Google loves to travel

It is commonly known that Google loves links, both inbound and outbound. When it comes to search engine optimization, lots of research has focused on inbound links, but little has focused on the number of links on an actual page. It appears that Google favors sites that have several internal and outbound links over those that don't have links.

If you have any doubts about this theory, simply do a search on any high-volume keyword or phrase within this search engine and analyze the first few sites that come up. Notice how the majority of them have numerous internal links on the main pages of their Web site.

Google is popular and expects you to be, too

The more popular your site is across the Web, the more Google will favor you. Obviously, having several high-quality inbound links to your site is key in achieving higher rankings. When identifying Web sites for inbound links, target the ones that are highly relevant to your site. For example, if you run a jewelry site, look for sites that are purely informational on the topic of jewelry or gemstones. Also, make sure that the sites you decide to partner with have a good PageRank (at least a 5) and online presence.

To save yourself a lot of hassle, conduct a keyword search relevant to your business and target the Web sites that show up on the first and second pages of Google (weeding out the competition, of course); contact the Web masters of those sites and tell them about your company and find useful ways to compensate them for adding your company's information on their site.

If you have an affiliate program, don't be shy to pitch it. If you have an online advertising budget, offer them a pay-per-click deal or monthly advertising fee for promoting your Web site. Note that partnering with these sites or purchasing ads should complement your overall marketing and business development strategyand not be used merely to get link value.

Google gets bored easily

Regardless of whether your site is informational, e-commerce or just a sophisticated version of a business card, having quality content is crucial for search engine optimization. Adding to that factor is how often you update your site's content.

If you run a site that has new content added on a monthly basis (do not overdo it), then eventually the Google "freshbot" will start visiting your site more often and index your new content into the database. The more content you update, the more Google visits your site and indexes it quicker. Do not refresh your content simply for search engine optimization purposes, but do take the effort to keep interesting articles, blogs and entries to keep your visitors coming back.

If you haven't already noticed, keeping pace with Google is not an easy undertaking. It takes a certain level of knowledge, skill and creativity to truly benefit from this relationship. The rest is up to the stars.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Reciprocal Links

When you know you have a great website or product to offer you want the world to know about it too. You could spend a lot of money advertising but in the long run this may cost you more money than you make. Alternatively, you could consider reciprocal links to other related websites. This could boost traffic to your website and the links will also increase your popularity with the search engines.

The advantages of reciprocal links outweigh the disadvantages for several reasons. When you link to another website it allows their traffic to click onto your website which increases your traffic.

When you use reciprocal links, their traffic can become your traffic and you do not face any advertising bills. Reciprocal links can be a great idea for those who are just starting out in their own business or website online and can't really afford to pay out a lot on advertising until they get more traffic to their site.

The main disadvantage of reciprocal links is that you share everything, including the customers. By placing links to other websites on your site, you are encouraging them to visit these other sites. So, while you may be getting increased traffic, you may experience reduced sales as visitors navigate away to other websites.

You may also need to watch out for reciprocal link scams. You may have seen emails from people requesting to exchange links to your website. Sometimes, these are legitimate, but often they are not and the link to your website may end up on a non-searchable site with a bunch of other links.

This brings us to the point that the value of reciprocal links depends very much on the site where your link appears. If it is on a popular website with plenty traffic and a good search engine ranking, then a reciprocal link is well worth it. However, a reciprocal link is worthless if it appears on some obscure website that receives few visitors.

If someone offers a reciprocal link to your website, make sure to check them out thoroughly to ensure that the link will genuinely be of benefit to your website and your business.

The benefits of reciprocal links for your website will depend very much on your own circumstances and the quality of links you can find. If you are just starting out and are receiving few visitors to your website, some good reciprocal links could help kick start your website. However, if you are already well-established there may be better advertising and marketing options available to you.

Article Marketing - My Favorite Way To Drive Traffic

One of my favorite ways to drive traffic to my web site is through article marketing. What is article marketing? Article marketing is the process of writing articles about topics related to your web site niche ideas, adding links to your web site within the articles, and submitting them to the various online article directories for distribution online. One of the really nice things about article marketing traffic is that the leads generated are usually very high quality; another nice thing about article marketing is that there is generally no cost to submitting the articles to the article directories, so for all practical purposes, except for your time, article marketing is free to use to generate traffic.

So how do you do article marketing? Here is a step by step guide to article marketing:

1) Determine what types of ideas and topics are good for your web site? An easy way to do this is to write a list of ten things that people visiting your web site might be interested in. Once you have this list, write down 10 questions someone might have in reference to each of the first 10 things someone might be interested in. This will give you a total of 100 questions or ideas about which you can write.

2) Write 250-350 word articles about each of your ideas, questions, or topics, using the formula I am teaching in this article.

3) At the end of the article, you must have a call to action. Most article directories will call this your resource box, or your bio. I call it a call to action, because it must be more than a bio and a link. It must be a very specific directive that entices people to click the link and get to your web site. If they do not click the link in the article, your article has been basically unsuccessful, so you must learn to write a call to action.

The easiest way to write a call to action is to first create a free item or product that you can giveaway on your web site. Then tell the reader to click here to collect their giveaway. This will create just about the highest percentage of readers clicking through to your web site from your article and of course that is your primary goal when you are article marketing.

Article Marketing For Ezine Publishing

Article marketing can be used to develop backlinks by submitting the articles to a range of article directories online, or it can be used to develop direct traffic by submitting your articles to some of the highest traffic article directories online.

The full power of your articles is unleashed when people find them so interesting, or relevant, that they copy them to use as content in their own website, ezine or magazine. This the third, and most powerful use of article marketing. When they copy your article your name and resource box must remain with it. In this way one article can provide you with hundreds of back links. It is not unusual for a webpage, previously unlisted on Google, to reach Page One by the simple expedient of writing a few articles.

It is important if you can link back to a specific web page, rather than your home page, since a deep link to your site is more valuable than a link to your home page. You can get back links to your home page by submitting your site to website directories. These, however, do not allow individual page submissions, so deep links by means of article marketing should be used whenever possible.

This is the power of article marketing, and it can provide you with lots more natural traffic than paid adverts, and whats more, the traffic is targeted to the theme of your web page. Nothing is static in the world of search engines, and you should strike while the iron is hot. Article marketing is currently the hot way of achieving high index positions, but it may not always be so, so take advantage while you can.

By now, I am pretty sure that you would like to use this technique so you can get all the benefits I have mentioned. So, let's uncover the 4 steps to make money through this marketing technique:

1. Write as many articles as you can. In article marketing, the quantity and quality of your articles play crucial role in driving traffic to your website. Thus, I strongly suggest that you create at least 5-7 unique articles per day. This will yield to at least 25 articles per week, enough to increase your site's popularity and page rank.

2. Be direct. In writing articles for the web, it is important that you have the ability to get your message across without beating around the bush. So be direct and communicate your point quickly. The more time you spend using fillers or fancy words, the more time you are allowing your target audience to switch to your competitors.

3. Your articles must be related to your website or your products. There is no sense in writing travel articles with URL pointing to a website about how to make money online. The reason why your readers will click the URL on your resource box is for further reading or to get more information about the topics your have discussed in your articles.

4. Post your articles on blogs. If you are looking for other ways to market your article other than article directories, post your articles on your blog or somebody else's blogs that share your topic. Like article submission sites, blogs are easily indexed by search engines because they are so in demand and they are frequently updated.

Why Are You Writing Articles Anyway?

As a marketer, I have tried just about every type of marketing strategy available online (although I am guilty of keeping my ears out for innovative tips).

One key promotional tactic that I have used for over 5 years now would be - writing articles. I strongly encourage those with websites to try sitting down and pick a topic in their niche and write what they know about it.

You'll be amaze at how many times you will say to yourself boy that wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. And you are right. I'm also going to state for the record that using PLR articles in the right way can be beneficial as well.

But let's get back to writing good articles that get read. Here's a question for you: Why should you write articles? And if you are already writing articles on a regular basis, the question should be, why are you writing articles anyway?

Why Are You Writing Articles Anyway?

When you get down to basics, articles should be written to inform people that you have something of value to read. It doesn't matter if you send your article to 600 directories and publishers, what good is it if they all turn you down?

Think about it. For your article to get noticed, it has to be read, right? And for it to be read, it has to be good in the sense that it's interesting, valuable or gives a solution to a problem someone currently has.

The next step is realizing the purpose of your article which is very important. What do you want? Do you want leads? Are you trying to optimize your website? Do you want to brand your name or web page name?

These are things you need to consider before writing your article. It's nice to think you'll get hundreds of links back to your website but will it really happen if you're writing or content stinks?

And you want to take special precautions if you're looking to brand yourself because to do this, you'll need to come across as an expert in your field of work or niche. So, make sure you know what you're talking about.

What Do Search Engines and Publishers Have In Common?

And when you think about it, search engines are not so different from publishers. How? Well, they both are looking for good, quality content to show their readers.

Don't fool yourself. There's big competition out there. They do not lack content since alot of people write. What they at times lack is quality content.

How can you take advantage of this problem and beat your competition hands down? Write with the reader in mind.

Write with the goal of helping them solve a problem that you perhaps had. Yes, writing from your own experiences can show the reader they're not alone out there. You can also share ideas and tips from other experts you respect.

Remember, the more people that actually read your articles, the better chance of them seeing your resource box at the bottom which if written properly, will grab their attention enough to get them to your website.

That should be your goal. Then and only then can you win their trust and eventually sell them on whatever you are marketing. By doing this, you're articles accomplish their goal and you'll gain wide exposure as an expert author.

Article Marketing - The Failing Formula!

How can you fail at article marketing? The process is very simple actually. You have probably even heard of them by now. You probably even live by these failing formulas! They seem logical, but really, they don't work. What are these simple failing formulas?

The article marketing failing formulas

  • You should republish your articles for greater publicity. I don't know if you know this or not, but search engines do not index duplicated content. Well they do, but your duplicate content must get more inbound links than the original or other duplicates. Why should you duplicate content if it just means more work, for an article that might not even get more than 10 views? It's not worth doing, and it's not going to make your article marketing journey skyrocket.
  • Create tons of articles, it doesn't matter if they suck. This is completely false. All of your articles should be written well and it should have valuable content. If you think that your going to make it in article marketing by publishing articles that give the reader absolutely no information, you are sadly mistaken. It's true and there is no thought around it. Your articles should contain valuable information and it should be enjoyable to read. Article quality is very important to article marketing.
  • Only publish 1-10 articles. This is not a good tactic in this marketing strategy. The fewer articles that you make, the more likely your articles are not going to be viewed. Just writing 10 articles isn't going to get you the page ranking you deserve. It can, but it's very rare. It really is! You should be writing articles regularly, the more you write, the more publicity you're going to get!
  • Your title doesn't matter. This is my favorite failing formula. Your articles title is important. It needs to be able to attract your readers attention. Your articles title is what makes the reader decide to click on your link when there are other links out there. Your article title matters!

These are simple failing fomulas that you might be going by, so just sit down for a bit, and think about how you write your articles. If you use any of these formulas, you might find yourself in the fast track to article marketing failure!

Internet Marketing - Increase Website Traffic With Article Marketing!

Whether you are an Internet marketing pro or an absolute newbie, You can dramatically increase the effectiveness of your Internet marketing with a concerted article marketing campaign. Here's why...

Article marketing is the most effective, FREE way to drive traffic to your website there is! And...it is one of the most durable forms of Internet marketing available because articles are displayed online literally for years. It is a marketing strategy you can do once and reap the benefit literally for years to come.

In business, there is no more powerful position than to be considered an expert. When a person reads articles you have distributed and learns something from it you become an expert to that person. That's a strong incentive when it comes to buying from you.

One of the best parts of article marketing is you never pay for advertising-your article is your ad if you do it right. And if for some reason you don't feel capable of writing an article or do not have the time there is an abundance of copywriters eager and available on Craigslist or on the forums of Digital Point.com.

Creating your article

Begin by deciding on your topic. Write about a part of your business that you are passionate about and can give specific solutions to a problem or aspect of. Be clear and concise and try to entice the reader to want find to out more about you and what you have to offer. Also, be a specialist and don't write in generalities.

Keyword research

Now that you have your topic the most important step is to do the necessary keyword research . keywords are the words and phrases that someone would type into a search engine to find information about your topic. This is an entire subject unto itself but bear in mind you want to work the main keywords you've uncovered into the body, subjects and especially the title lines of your article. Why is that? Because the first 3-5 words of your article title determine the success of how much traffic your article will generate back to your website.

So, creating keyword rich article titles that match the most commonly searched keywords for your topic is absolutely critical to effective internet marketing. Here are three keyword research sites to explore.

freekeywords.wordtracker.com
searchmarketing.yahoo.com
hexatrack.com

Compelling, clear and concise

Now, that we have our topic, keywords and title it's time to write the body. Articles should be between 300 and 700 words roughly and then have a four to five sentences at the end talking about why they should visit your website.

Strive to cover one complete concept. Something that stands on it own and is a valuable contribution to the reader. As the saying goes content is king. For example, Internet marketing, article marketing, and generate website traffic are three keywords I'm using in this article. It has to read natural though don't over do it. By the way ,consider if it's appropriate to use some controversy in your article to create interest. A little controversy may go a long way to generate website traffic and be entertaining.

And, remember your keywords. Those same keywords you used in the title should be sprinkled judiciously throughout the body of the article .I suggest you keep a list of them in front of you as you as you write. Wrap up the body of your article leaving the reader with a desire to know more of what you have to say. Entice them.

The authors response box or byline.

The last part of the article is the all important authors box or byline. Never write an article without one. This is where you sell yourself and your site. It should contain the following: Your name and optional title. Your website URL (preferably in a clickable link) and a call to action. In other words "ask for the sale".

It's often an effective Internet marketing strategy to offer them a free gift such as a newsletter or audio course etc. as a "bribe" to visit your site.

Ideally you want to send prospects through an opt-in page which you can track through a tracking link and auto responder. This way you can stay in touch with people to build trust and further demonstrate the value of the services and products you offer.

You now have a compelling keyword rich article that gives valuable content to your reader and represents you for the expert you are in your chosen field. That's It. Well, not quite. It's now time to submit your article.

Submitting your article

The greatest article in the world is meaningless if it's never read. You could of course submit it yourself, however a much faster ,more effective way is to submit it through one or more of the available article submission sites. They will have your articles in front of thousands even hundreds of thousands of people a lot faster than you could do it yourself. One word of caution though ,search engines do not want duplicate content all over the web. So , you'll want to vary your article each time you submit it to different submission sites. A different title, vary the content etc. and one article can become many. Three great sites to investigate are

ArticleMarketer.com
SubmitYourArticle.com and
EzineArticles.com

Article Marketing - How to Track Your Success

Writing articles and submitting them to article directories, and ezine publishers takes a great deal of investment therefore you need to track them to determine their effectiveness.

Methods to track the success of your article marketing

Article directories

Most article directories (ie EzineArticles) display the number of visitors your article received. If you've written many articles you can quickly see which ones received the most visitors and/or comments.

Google

Enter your article title (with quotes) in the Google search box with quotes surrounding it. This shows all places your article appears on the Net. Before writing your content enter the title in Google first to make sure you are not duplicating someone else's article otherwise you will see their articles listed among yours.

Backlinks

Your resource box contains the URL to your web site. When your article gets distributed to other sites you receive incoming links from them. If you enter: Enter site:www.domain.com in Yahoo, it will display all the incoming links you have gained from other sites.

Site Statistics

Your web hosting service includes statistics for your web site. The stats reveal where your traffic is coming from. It displays the number of hits, visitors, external links, referrers (urls of people visiting your site) keywords and keyword phrases entered in the search engines. After submitting several articles for distribution, monitor your statistics. New keyword phrases that appear in your statistics can be used to produce new articles.

Tracking URLs

I've left this method last because I don't highly recommend it but it gives very detailed stats if you use an adtracker i.e., adtrackz. Set up a tracking URL in your ad tracking software that monitors the number of hits your article receives. There is only one problem with this method..if you stop tracking the article your visitor will receive a broken link when they click the URL in your resource box. Search engines do not spider broken links.

By investing a some time tracking your articles, you determine what sites are not producing results. Submit articles consistently to distribution sites to keep receiving traffic. Overtime you will see a steady increase in visitors.

Article Marketing - No-Nonsense Advice About Article Writing

Do you want to make a decent living with article marketing? It can be done. There are internet professions who earn literally tens of thousands of dollars per month using nothing but article marketing. If they can do it, so can you.

One of the things that we all have to deal with in the article marketing business is coming up with new articles. It can be a bit frustrating especially to someone who has just started.

When I decided to make article marketing my sole form of advertising I ran into the same problem. At first I did not know how to come up with new articles, so I did some research. I read everything I could find on the subject.

The method that I use is not revolutionary or even new, but I will guarantee you one thing. It works. Here is how I come up with new articles.

Having the main topic I am going to write about firmly in mind, I break it down in to 10 sub-topics. Many times I come up with these sub-topics by visiting a forum where the main topic is being discussed.

This gives me insight into what information my potential readers may be discussing. If they are discussing it you can rest assured that they will read articles about it.

Once I have my list of 10 sub-topics I then break them down and come up with 10 bullet points for each.

Each of these bullet points actually becomes an article. So as you can see I have just given myself the basis for 100 articles.

I then sit down and start writing about each point. In no time it seems that I have finished these articles and I begin the process again.

No, its not flashy, not automated, nor even original but as I said it works. Give this method a try and I believe you will find it much easier to come up with new articles.

Breakthrough Article Marketing - Discover 4 Must-Have Ways to Excel at Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the most uncomplicated tools that you can use in driving quality traffic to your website. In using this marketing strategy, you don't need programming skills or spend your precious time convincing other webmasters to link back to you just to improve your page ranking and augment your page views. You just have to write quality articles that are targeted to the needs of your target market and submit them to publishing sites to obtain quality inbound links. It's that easy!

Here are the 4 must-haves ways to excel at article marketing:

1. Focus on the quality of your articles. You would want your articles to be read and widely distributed online to gain unlimited quality inbound links, correct? Then, you need to make sure that your articles are well-written, content-rich, useful, and highly relevant to your target niche.

2. Optimize. Increase the chances of your articles being read by making them highly searchable online. How? By being familiar with the algorithms of various search engines and learning how to identify and position relevant keywords on your content.

3. Submit your articles on a regular basis. To strengthen your online presence, submit at least 5 articles everyday. The more articles you write and submit, the more quality inbound links you can create for your website. Not only that, you will also send a strong message to your readers that you have so much information to share and that you are really an expert on your chosen niche.

4. Keep your articles short. Don't bore your readers with essay-like articles and limit your content to 300-500 words. If you can't fit all your ideas in this word count, I suggest you create another new article.

How Article Marketing Can Get You More Visitors To Your Website

Article marketing is one of the best ways to get more visitors for your website. In case you're not familiar with the term, article marketing is a technique where you write articles about topics related to your website and then submit them to one or more websites called article directories.

As you know, having fresh content on your website and blog is key when it comes to getting search engine traffic. Many website owners and bloggers visit article reprint directories on a daily basis, in search of articles to use on their sites.

When you submit your articles to the various directories, you give permission for other webmasters to use them on their websites or blogs, with the condition that they include an "about the author" section that you include at the end of your article.

This section lets you include more information about your website, as well as links back to it where people can get more information.

When someone posts your article on their site, they also post this about the author section and everyone who reads the article on their website sees it. Your article can ultimately end up on hundreds of websites, with thousands of visitors reading it and clicking the links through to your own site.

It is very easy to find these reprint directories on the web. Just do a Google search on 'free reprint article directories' and many listings will pop up. Some are highly targeted and feature only articles health articles; or only articles about food; and other directories are more general. You can submit your article to more than one directory, and there are even some software packages that will submit the articles for you.

Coming up with ideas for article topics is really not hard. Just take the topic of your website and think of a question your visitors would have, then write an article answering it. For example, if you have a gardening website, you could write about how to care for your indoor plants or when to start planting seeds.

And if you don't really enjoy writing, it's not a problem. You can hire writers to ghostwrite your articles at various places on the internet. How much you'll pay will depend on different factors, but usually you'll wind up paying between $8 and $20 per 500 word article.

Make Money with Articles by Using Free Articles Directories

Amongst the many ways of making money with articles, the use of free articles directories is one of the best. Free article directories are websites that house free articles and a simple Google search for "free article directories" revealed 210,000 entries.

Articles are usually placed on these sites by whoever owns the copyright to them as a way of making money with articles with a proven promotion method. Each article has the owners resource box placed under it so that those who eventually read the article will know who wrote it (or at least who owns it).

The article resource box contains your name and a brief bio plus at least one link back to your site or affiliate link. Some of the free article directories will allow you up to three links, which is even better. Thus readers of your article will be able to get in contact with or visit your website for further information.

Articles directories are a great place to put your articles so that they will make you money. By using this method, people who are interested in your product or service will see your article, view you as an expert in the subject, and will visit your website. Even if you cannot write or do not have any knowledge on the subject on which you are promoting (for example if you run an affiliate website), you can always hire a writer to do the work for you.

On the downside, getting quality articles written by a ghostwriter will be expensive to start with, but they will pay for themselves in no time, either through affiliate sales or sales of your own services. After that everything is then pure profit.

An Example:

If you want to think about this as an example; imagine that you are a career coach working from home and you could use some more clients. You write an article on a coaching related topic and submit it to various article directories. People who are looking for information related to the the subject you wrote about will read your article, see that you have the knowledge and skill that is needed to do a job for them, and visit your website or contact you via e-mail. Your article has just gained you a new client who may use your services regularly, but will definitely give you a nice profit at least once.

Furthermore, since you have posted it on a free article directory, others who have affiliate websites related to coaching will almost certainly use your article for their website. Since they must attach your resource box to it, this will bring you even more exposure for every website that re-posts your article and you will benefit from the traffic that they get to their website.

There are numerous article directories out there for you to utilize. Your best bet is to put a copy of each of your articles on every one for maximum exposure. It will eventually help to bring more traffic and customers to your website, which will lead to new orders and more profit. This is one of the simplest ways to make money with articles by using free articles directories.
