How Important Are Links?

Just over 6 weeks ago I set up a couple of new blogs. With one of these blogs I intentionally did not build in any links at all to the blog. I used blogger to set up the blog and allowed blogger to send pings. So Google would be aware of the site, but what would happen?

I've posted to the blog two to three times per week, using a mixture of articles and my own thoughts. Since then I've watched what pages Google has been showing and when it has cached them.

At the same time I also ran another blog, posted to at exactly the same time as the first blog and using the exact same micture of articles / new content. The only difference has been that this second blog has been linked to from a few other websites and blogs.

So what is the difference between them? Basically, the site with links has over half of the posts cached, which isn't brilliant. But then it's not posted to often. But on the whole, Google is caching the site about weekly.

But the first site, the one without any links, is hardly visited by Google. Since the day it went live Google has had the home page cached and quickly cached a couple of posts. For the first week the sites were treated pretty much the same. But within 3 weeks the linked site had a lot more pages cached and the difference has grown.

Now, 7 weeks since first posting and first link building to the second site, there is a massive difference. The none linked to site has not been cahced for 6 weeks, whereas the linked site has been cached within the week, and this seems to continue.

So there is a massive difference in how your site is treated depending on how many links you have incoming. Google may know about your site, but if the links aren't good, it's going to ignore you! So link building is not a total waste of time. It's not just about letting the search engines know that you exists, it's about convincing them that you are worth their processing time and getting them to visit the site to view and store updates.

Keep building links in, just make them good links.

Lucrative Article Marketing - Revealed - 3 Latest Secrets to Multiply Your Article Marketing

Article marketing is your ticket to online success. Whether you are running your own ebusiness or engaged in affiliate marketing, this amazing product and website promotional tool can help you reach your goals. All you need to do is write and distribute quality articles that are targeted to the needs and demands of your potential clients and watch the traffic and online revenue going your way.

Here are the 3 latest secrets to multiply your article marketing:

1. Consider the publishing sites. As an article marketer, you will most likely to spend more time working with publishers in your attempt to convince them to publish your articles online. To minimize or eliminate the chances of your articles being rejected, I suggest that you read and understand the terms of service of each article submission site. Though most of them have different rules and regulations, there are universal guidelines that they would like you to follow and these are: Your articles must run at least 300 words, they must be free from blatant advertisements, inappropriate content, hyperlinks, and too much keywords. In addition, they must also be well-written and content-rich.

2. Write more. In article marketing, the more articles you write and submit, the more quality inbound links you will obtain for your website. Thus, it follows that if you would like to augment your traffic and improve your search engine ranking, you must be willing to multiply the number of your output.

3. Use striking headlines. Increase your clickthrough rate by using attention-grabbing titles that can easily pique the curiosity of online users. Keep your titles short but intriguing. Direct to the point yet compelling. It would also help to make them keyword-rich so your articles will fare well on relevant searches.

Affiliate Marketing - Build Your Link Popularity For Higher Traffic And Profits!

As an affiliate, it's essential for you to have your own website because of all the advantages of having your very own web property. Building a website is easy. What require more efforts is link building. You need to get hundreds of links pointing back to your webpages.

What is link building and how this will benefit you as an affiliate?

You need to get a lot of link towards your website because of the nature of the Internet. The number of links is one of the numerous elements that search engine use to rank websites.

Here is how it works:

When someone perform a search on Google, Yahoo or MSN, the search engine will return a page of results with the most relevant websites.

To earn money from your website, you need to be on the very first page of results, and the only way to achieve this kind of rankings is link popularity. In fact, the more links you get, the better your rankings. And top position in the search engines can bring thousands of visitors a month to your website.

How to get links pointing back to your website?

Let me tell you something... It's not easy. However, you can get a good amount of links in a relatively short period of time if you are willing to put the work.

You can submit articles to directories. Don't limit your efforts to article directories only, you can also submit to related newsletters in your niche as well. Don't forget ezines (a.k.a electronic magazines).

You need to research those websites on Google and ask them if they would like to receive guest articles from you.

Be sure to include a bio box (also called resource box) at the end of your articles. It's really important because it is the only way for people who read your article to visit your website.

The more articles you submit, the more relevant and original your articles are, the more webmasters will be republish them all over the web. Every time someone add your article on his website, it means a new link back to your site.

This will help you to get more visitors and higher position in Google and other search engine ranking.

Last thing, you should always deliver killer content. Don't make the mistake of building a thin affiliate site for a buck or two. Develop a long term business.

If Content Is King - Who Are The Princes Of SEO?

Here's a predication that I know will irritate the technically oriented Kings of SEO: Looking hard into my crystal ball, as one does, I reckon that their days are numbered and that they are a dying breed! Now before the techies swarm around LeadGenerators HQ with pitchforks and flaming torches ready to silence the web-marketing heathen, allow me to explain...

Those of you who know me are probably well aware of my healthy disregard for the techno-centric view of internet marketing. In my mind, instead of technical considerations dictating what we should try to achieve, we marketing managers should dictate what we want and then find the technical solutions to achieve it. I know that this attitude annoys the technocrats who seem to dominate the online marketing world, but my approach has proved successful in its own right.

I have always seen SEO as a two-stage process. The first is to make sure that a client's website is search engine friendly. This process analyses the structural elements of the site to make sure that search engines are able to see ALL the pages of the site and are able to rank (judge) each page in its own right. It's a lengthy analysis that covers many aspects of the site but it's largely a one-off project. Once done, and once the site has been improved accordingly, the techies' work is more or less done.

The larger, second step is all-important and all about the content of the site itself.

For a site to achieve good rankings, we need to first select the right keywords. I won't go into the science of keyword research and selection, but once the best ones have been selected for a client, we need to move into the realm of writing, sprinkling certain keywords strategically throughout the text and the code of each page. It's not just this keyword enhanced copy that requires excellent writing though - link building, press releases, social media - the common denominator for all of these is good writing and communication skills, combined with good old-fashioned common sense, which most technically minded people aren't best suited to provide. It is the writers and communicators - not the programmers - who have delivered our best results in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

There is a rather tacky expression in the SEO community that says "Content is King". I would like to get a little tackier if I may: If content is King, then the up and coming Princes of SEO must surely be the writers and communicators.

Just a thought ... and I look forward to comments.

Why is Article Marketing so Popular and Effective?

There are two main reasons why Article Marketing continues the premier method of both website and affiliate based promotion. First of all, it is free. It only costs you the time to write and distribute the article. If you have content already written, it is literally a cut and paste operation. Even if you have to take the time to research and write the articles from scratch, Article Marketing is a pure bargain. Being free, it is the best place for beginning Internet Marketers to start.

Second, Google, Yahoo and other search engines love articles, especially the ones published on article distribution sites like ezinearticles.com. Other sites such as articledashboard.com and goarticles.com are good too, but no one matches ezinearticles.com's ability to give an article high search engine ranking. Non-article marketers have to use "pay-per-click" or get involved with complicated and expensive SEO techniques to get web traffic. By using Article Marketing, you can get traffic for free. Very little beats free search engine exposure. Whether your business is brand spanking new or been in business for decades, you will gain new customers from Article Marketing. It is a proven tool for funneling traffic to your website. Successful Article Marketing does something else; it establishes you as an expert in your field and gives you phenomenal credibility.

The bottom line, you can't afford not use Article Marketing as part of your advertising plan. If executed properly, it can increase your sales exponentially. Because it's both free and viral, Article Marketing is obviously the most cost-effective method of internet marketing. Now, I'm making it seem like a "no-brainer" and, quite honestly it is. You should be using it for every website you own and every affiliate you promote.

"Wait!", you say. "This all sounds good but I'm a terrible writer. I can't write articles." Think again. It may seem intimidating but you can write articles and good ones at that. They're really not all that hard to write and there are some excellent article writing tools available to help. Instant Article Wizard is the best of those tools. It is an automatic, brainstorming, article writing, genius piece of software. No article writer should be without it and it makes those crucial first few articles a lot easier. If you are an experienced writer you can easily double or triple your output. You can read a review of Instant Article Wizard and see an introductory movie on it at http://www.happypc.org

Internet Marketing Secret to Success

Ive always said there are no secrets in Internet Marketing. But sure there are. The Google search and quality score algorithms are secrets, pretty much, just as a quick example.

However, when someone is trying to sell you his latest greatest secret that got him a huge bank account, and he used those secret techniques never before revealed: Bah, humbug.

So, technically, the above headline is just to grab attention.

However if you arent aware of something, its a secret to you, so with that in mind, Id like to reveal my secret 8 steps to Internet Marketing success. Here are the steps you have to take to make it:

* Wanting

* Attempting

* Learning

* Believing

* Focusing

* Working

* Achieving

* Enjoying

I might have left something out in some situations, but for me, wanting, attempting, and learning consumed (as I wrote in my book) about 3 years of my life. Totally consumed it, in fact.

Then I finally learned what I needed to learn (for me it was Campaign Blasting), and I finally reached the step of believing.

The last 4 steps came in rapid succession.

Regardless of your current status, you can reach step 8, I have no doubt about it at all, if youre willing to do what it takes. I mentioned on our forum recently that I expect that most of our members are at least on step 3, and most are on step 6.

In reading posts on other forums, I see too many at step 1, and fear they will be there forever. For example, I saw a post the other day. The person wanted to earn $6,000 in 4 months, and he wanted suggestions. Someone gave him a good suggestion to try Bum Marketing, and his response was Im not interested in writing articles.

Uh, excuse me? Im not interested in getting out of a warm bed on a cold day, either, but some things require doing some things that you arent interested in doing.

Read the steps. Do the steps. Leave out a step and youre asking for trouble, IMO.

Where are you today? What can you do this month to get to the next step? Ask yourself how much it would be worth to you to get there. How much time? How much effort? How much money?

Step 4 (believing) can be the quickest to achieve, and the hardest to achieve, at the same time. Some people have a devil of a time because their guard is up, non believing all the hype around them. And that can be a good thing. But then again, if you believe everyone is a scammer and a liar, who will you choose for a mentor?

It sometimes takes an ah-ha moment like I had in 2005. I read a report written by someone that I knew and trusted. I said if he can do that, I can do that. And then, just like that, I did that. The rest is history.

For some people, believing doesnt happen until they see someone close to them do something amazing. Many know the story of Roger Bannister, the first person to run a mile in under 4 minutes. Prior to his accomplishing that, it was widely believed that no human being could perform that feat. Soon after he did it, several others did also.

What happened there? Did they become stronger or faster in a few weeks? Did they learn a new technique? No, not at all. All that happened was that suddenly they learned that running a mile in under 4 minutes was in fact humanly possible.

If he can do that, I can do that, they said. And they did that.

Youve heard it many times: "What the mind believes, it can achieve."

Easier said than done, I know. But there are techniques that speed up the process.

Real Estate Marketing Strategies - Getting Your Clients to Buy Now!

Have you been feeling frustrated at clients who don't seem to be able to make a decision? At the beginning they seem interested in buying, either they've contacted you or you contacted them. Then as they see some homes may begin listening to the news about today's marketplace, they start to get cold feet.

They don't return your phone calls or e-mails, and when you finally reached they say, "I'm not sure this is the best time to buy. I've heard prices may get lower."

At this point you can either get exasperated and give up or you can give them a good reason to buy now, one that they can't refuse.

This is a simple 3 step process:

First, say to them, "Did you know that Donald Trump is buying up as much real estate as he can right now?" Client, "No, really? Why?" You respond with, "Donald Trump is a very smart businessman, wouldn't you say? What he knows that other people don't know is that this is the best time in history to buy. Prices are at an all-time low and so are interest rates. It doesn't get any better than this. So he is getting great deals all over the place." After this, your client will probably say, "Wow I didn't know that." You respond with, "If you're excited about this, then let's get you a deal."

Notice the invitational quality of your last statement. Who can resist a deal? Isn't this an irresistible statement? You are offering to partner up with them to help them make money.

Watch how quickly your previously "indecisive" clients, start taking action. You've done your job to tell them the facts. You've backed that up with an offer to help them make money in the same way that Donald Trump is making money. There may be objections that come up.

Here is the KEY: if you are convinced that this is the best time to buy, then they will be too. People can sense the depth of your conviction, so convince yourself first and then you will be attracting your ideal clients.

Productive Article Marketing - Uncover 4 Amazing and Powerful Methods to Amplify Your Article Market

In a nutshell, article marketing is the most effective marketing tool in the internet today. Millions of webmasters who have benefited from this tool would surely attest to this. Some even say that this is the "magic pill" that any marketer should take in order to popularize their website and increase their online revenue in the process.

Here are the 4 amazing and powerful methods to amplify your article marketing:

1. Your articles must be search-engine friendly. As a marketer, you need to understand the importance of search engines in bringing qualified traffic to your website. Determine how your articles are being indexed to increase their chances of showing up on search results page when online users search for keywords to which your articles are based on.

2. Your articles must be publisher-friendly. Every submission site has its own rules and regulations. To minimize the chances of your articles being rejected, make sure that they adhere to the standards set by publishers.

3. Your articles must be reader-friendly. While keeping search engines in mind, you also need to consider your readers when optimizing your content. By this, I mean that your keywords must sound natural and logical to your content. In addition, you also need to give your readers great reading experience so they will like you and eventually trust you. You can do so by making your articles content-rich, informative, useful, and direct to the point.

Article Marketing Is The Bridge Between You and Your Customers

With information technology on the rise and gaining relevance in the world today, article marketing has become a significant tool to promote businesses on the Internet. While it is well-known that articles make consumers understand a product better, a well-written article can be one of the main reasons why any product sells. These days, article marketing is so advanced that it has become the foremost advertising strategy for many online businesses.

Central to the effectiveness of article marketing is the implementation of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The primary function of this form of article writing is to achieve prominent rankings on the search engines by utilizing keywords which are popular among Internet users. When a user enters a search term which is identical to your keyword, the web page of your article will be displayed as a search result. With effective SEO strategies, you can rank among the top search results and benefit from a steady flow of incoming traffic, which will ultimately lead to increased sales.

Due to the fact that SEO article writing involves a great deal of research and expertise, most website owners prefer to employ SEO experts to manage their web content. These specialized professionals will provide you keyword-rich articles that will dramatically improve the visibility of your website and win customers over with their convincing content. SEO article marketing is such a proven success in the world of online business that many website owners are willing to hire the services of top SEO experts to help them launch their businesses into greater heights of profitability.

Other than its overall contribution to the betterment of sales, article marketing also brings professionalism and prestige to your website. With comprehensive articles that offer expert information about your products, your website will be widely regarded as an authoritative entity. It will assume a position as the favored destination for consumers seeking specialized knowledge pertaining to your products. As your reputation grows, your brand will be established as a trusted name in the business and this will in turn translate to a long-term influx of web traffic.

Compared to other forms of online advertisements which incur quite a substantial amount of financial investment, article marketing is basically free advertising. Since your articles are included in the information base of search engines, they will automatically show up whenever a search term coincides with one or few of their keywords. In a way, an article is a living advertisement implemented on the Internet and it grows in recognition from time to time, without you having to pay extra for each and every appearance. Web owners who understand the full potential of article marketing will also post their articles in directories and ezines to boost their chances of drawing more visitors to their websites.

As the Internet continues to extend its influence into our livelihoods, article marketing will prevail as the most important means to distribute information, whether for a product or a mere matter of general interest. There is no website that can communicate effectively without web content, and articles are indeed the most significant bridge between webmasters and users. By adopting an elaborate article marketing strategy, you can be sure that your business will achieve new heights of success.

Website Marketing Tactics - Using Targeted Keywords In Your Page Title Tags

If you are concerned with your website marketing and promotion, which you should be if you want a successful website, then you need to be aware of the importance of utilizing proper targeted keywords in your title tags for your website optimization. I'm not just talking about using keywords in your website content either; I'm talking about in the page titles too. If you optimize your web page content, your Meta keyword tags and your page titles you can see excellent results in terms of increased search engine rankings and thus can receive more high quality website visitors to your site!

When I talk about using targeted keywords in your page titles I am not talking about in your Meta keyword tags. The title tag is separate from your Meta keyword tags and just like your Meta tags is very important. If you don't know already the title tag is what you place between the

<title> and </title> portions of your website code. What you place between these title tags is what will appear in the title bar of Internet browsers when someone views your page. It is very important for your website marketing needs to utilize these tags effectively.

I say targeted keywords instead of just keywords because for best results you should try to make your keywords as targeted towards the content of your website as possible. This will help increase your search engine rankings and make your website marketing efforts worthwhile!

When the search engines rank your web page in their index (thus it will appear in their search results) they take your title tag into consideration. This is why website optimization is such a talked about an important factor for small business websites and personal website alike because effective website optimization can help a website climb to the top of search engine results. When you search for a keyword or a sentence related to your websites content and your website is already ranked in the results, the title of the listing that you will see in all of the major search engines is actually what you have placed between your title tags. As you can probably imagine this makes it important for more than just increasing your search engine rankings since it is what searchers will actually see when they look for content related to your site. By this I mean that the title of your page is what will actually get potential visitors to actually click through to visit your site.

If you have designed your website yourself then you should know that every single page of your website should be optimized if you want it to appear in the results. I highly recommend that you go through all your pages and make sure that the titles within the title tags are all keyword optimized and relevant to the content on that specific page. Targeted keyword optimization is something that you will want to do throughout the content of your pages and the main keywords are what you will want to place in your title. You will also want to learn more about Meta keyword tags because they are important too.

In choosing your title tags in your website optimization efforts you will want to try to stay away from "stop" words. These are words that aren't directly content related and connect sentences generally. I recommend you stay away from them because they are ignored by many search engines when indexing your site. Words such as "and", "or", "I", "of" and "at" are examples of stop words. Trying to use as little stop words as possible in choosing your website title will not just limit how many words get indexed by the search engines but also will give you more valuable space in your title to use content rich targeted keywords.

Unless your business name is commonly searched for in the search engines there really isn't too much of a need to place it in your title tags itself when performing your website optimization. Doing so just uses valuable space that you could utilize with targeted keywords. If somebody searches in a search engine and doesn't already know about your business then having it in your title won't make them want to click through to visit your site. It is generally only after they have been to your site and like what you offer that the average visitor will be interested in your business name itself.

If you are wanting to be at the top of the search results for your business name itself you may wish to include your business name in the title, but I suggest using keyword rich words in your title that are searched for more often. Once you have your business website or personal website keyword optimized you will want to move on with your website marketing and start driving traffic to your site. You should see your pages climb the search engine results for your chosen keywords and will begin to see more natural traffic appearing to your website on a regular basis!

Do Your Website's Meta Tags Stand the Test

Every well designed website should have Meta tags. You might be asking yourself, "What are meta tags"? The short answer is Meta tags are a set of tags placed in the HTML header of your website to provide information to search engines about your website. You got it; the keyword here is search engines. As stated in a previous article, it is vital that you ensure your website is listed in the major search engines. Let's take this one step further and dissect the two major types of Meta tags.

Description Meta Tag

The description Meta tag is where you want to tell the search engines what your website is all about. You can think of the description Meta tag as the first impression of your website. When someone types in a search term in the search engines and your website is listed as matching that search term, the first thing they will see is the title and description of your website. If your description is not compelling enough your website may be overlooked time and time again. The end result would mean less traffic for you. So, let's take a look at what makes a good description:

1. First and foremost, your description must be relevant to your website. It should convey in a few words what your target audience should expect to get out of using your website. Your description should directly relate to both the title and the body content of your website. With that being said, every page on your website may not necessarily have the same description.

2. Although you want to make sure to use your main keywords in the description Meta tag, you do not want the description to be a complete reiteration of your keywords. The description should be full complete sentences making sure to be careful of any grammatical errors. Remember, the goal is to communicate to real people the essence of your website. To do so you must speak ("write") plain ole English.

3. Your description does not have to be really long to get your point across. The typical description is approximately 15 - 25 words long. This is equivalent to about 2 - 3 short sentences. Although there hasn't been an official word on what the description length needs to be, keep in mind there is only so much space available for your description in the search engine listings.

This list may not be all inclusive. However, it's a great start. To get a better fill of does and don'ts, search the internet using keywords relevant to your website and take a look at what the descriptions look like.

Keyword Meta Tag

The keyword Meta tag is probably the most important. This is where you would formulate a list of words that are directly related to your website. When someone types in a search term that fits your keywords your website could be one of the ones in the search engines listings. Typing in a group of words in the keyword Meta tag isn't as simple as that. There is a methodology to generating appropriate and good keywords that are suitable for your website. Let's take a look at a few things to keep in mind.

1. Don't use keywords that are not relevant to your website. Your keywords should consist of words that specifically describe what your website is all about. So if your website is geared towards web design, you should not use keywords relative to cookbooks. Sounds like common sense. However, you'd be surprised at how many websites use keywords that have nothing to do with their website.

2. You want to use keywords that are found in the body of your website. This increases the relevancy of your keywords. This does not mean that you should have lines of keywords imbedded into your website. Rather you should choose the words that are a part of the natural flow of your content. With that being said, it might serve you better to write the content of your website prior to identifying the appropriate keywords.

3. Generally, there are four areas to consider when incorporating your keywords in the Meta tag and the body of your website. These are density, frequency, prominence, and proximity.

a. Density refers to the number of times keywords appear versus all the words within the website. For example, if you have 500 words on a webpage and 250 are a particular keyword or keyword phase you would have a density of 50% which is way too high. Keyword density for each keyword or phrase should typically be between 2% - 6%.

b. Frequency refers to how often a keyword appears in the webpage. It is believed that the more a keyword appears the more relevant search engines see your webpage for that keyword. However, keep in mind that you do not want too high of a density. So if you want to use the same keyword over and over again make sure to have plenty of content surrounding the keyword.

c. Prominence refers to where the keyword(s) are found in the webpage. To achieve this remember to use your keywords in your title, description, at the beginning of the webpage, and the beginning of sentences.

d. Proximity refers to how close keywords are to each other. For example, consider the following two sentences:

"We design web sites"

"We specialize in web design"

If the keyword used in the search engines were "web design", the second sentence would be a better choice as it has the keywords web and design right next to each other.

There are many free tools on the internet that you can use to determine if your Meta tags past the test. Simply go to your favorite search engine and type in "free keyword analyzer" and see how you measure up.
