Article Marketing: Danger Signs

Marketing your articles is a fantastic way to gain needed exposure on the internet. Article directories are being introduced at a breakneck pace, but they are not all equal. In fact, listing your articles on some sites can be nothing but a waste of your time and could cause you to lose your valuable reputation. How so? Read on for more information.

One of the nicest compliments I have been paid is when a manager of an article directory approaches me to submit articles to his or her new site. Generally, this happens when they have discovered that I list a large number of articles to a high quality site, such as Ezine Articles, and realize that I have the ability to produce articles in spades.

Truthfully, I am very selective about joining new sites and only do so after examining how the site is set up and whether it is received by members of the article marketing community. The following list contains some of the danger signs of article directories that do not quite measure up:

No contact information. I want the person who manages the article directory to be personality driven. A little self promotion goes a long way! Sure, if they dont have what they say they have, it will soon become apparent that they are blowing in the wind. If it isnt possible to uncover the personality behind the directory, chances are they really arent that involved with the day to day operations.

No blog, no forum. Talk to me! Literally speaking. A blog and/or a forum are necessary parts of a successful article directory site, in my opinion. I want to get the article directory owners input on article marketing, and I want to leave a comment when inspired. Those article directories that encourage active participation are certainly the high achieving sites. Their success means your successplain and simple!

Feed it to them. Yes, a news feed that includes the articles submitted to the site is a must. RSS is a terrific way to maximize article exposure. I give article directories that have this feature an edge over all others as it tells me that they are serious about article marketing.

Statistically speaking. What, no stats?! If you cannot measure how many people have viewed your articles, downloaded the same, emailed them to someone, or left a comment, I have no use for you. Article marketing = statistics. You cannot possibly measure the success of what you write without some sort of feedback. Stats provide it!

Page rank. I want the article directory to pull down a Google page rank of at least 5. Heck, if my own article site can pull down a PR6, then I would expect an article directory to do at least the same! I give new sites 2 or 3 months to get their page rank up before deciding whether to submit to them or not.

Things I look for that are pluses: press releases; preservation of back links; easy submission of articles; approval within 48 hours; circulation of my articles via Google; a contact form to get a hold of the directory manager; continual growth of the site; and introduction of relevant new features to attract authors, content seekers, and the like.

Any site that fails to measure up is, in my opinion, a bad neighborhood. You wouldnt want to live in a bad neighborhood, so why would you feature your high quality articles there as well? Your reputation is golden; submit only to those sites that can enhance your reputation not lessen it.

Article Marketing - Sometimes the Simplest Strategies Produce the Greatest Results - Here's One

For most of us, we have had to do relatively little writing in our lives. I think that most undergrad programs require one, maybe two writing courses to get your degree. In my writing classes, we had to write 5 papers in the first one, and three in the second. I don't know about you, but for me to write a paper use to mean I had to invest a major effort to do so.

Now I admit that I am not normal, because I was unwilling to settle for any grade less than an *A.* The amount of effort from C to B is about double, but from B to A, I believe is at least double the effort again. So what does all this have to do with article marketing? We are just about there.

The bottom line is for most people to write something they expect to get a grade on, or published is a major effort. As a side note, the funny thing is, once you develop this skill, you can get greater results with much less effort. Turns out, for most people, there is only one way to get better, that is to start to write a lot.

So what is the point of all this seemingly obvious commentary? Well, when people feel like they have had to really invest a part of themselves into something, they have a tendency to make it very personal: this makes it hard to gear-up to do it again, it makes it hard to take constructive feedback, and it has a tendency to make ones confidence in their ability to do something low.

In article marketing, you have to do just the opposite. You need to get to a point, where you can write one article after another and take whatever feedback comes so you can consistently publish day in and day out. You need to have been successfully published enough times that you know within 30 minutes you could write an article that is ready to publish.

Sometimes your emotional attachment to something can be changed just by changing its name, what you call it. I think this is where the term, *article agents* comes from. Rather than thinking about what it takes for you to write an article, you focus on trying to get as many *article agents* out in the field selling for you as possible.

Then you don't feel like every article has to be able to win some type of writing prize, you can hammer out a few hundred words on a topic, proof it, have it proofed, and try to get it published, and then on to the next until you have 10 then 30 then 50 then 100 and so on. You do this until you start to realize the desired result, a large amount of targeted traffic to your site, blog, ezines or sales letter. Simple as that.

Article Marketing Tips for Internet Newbies - What to Write About?

Article writing is the best way to spread your links. It is free; and it helps add value to your Internet presence through the information you share in the articles. You write an article about 500 words and submit it to prominent article directories. You can reference your web url in your resource box attached with the article. The more directories you submit your articles to, the more back links you build.

Writing articles can be challenging for some people. If you want to hold your standards high and write your own articles, it could be time-consuming. Alternatively, you can hire ghost writers to do the job for you at a cost. $10 for a 300-500 word article when you commit in bulk (maybe 8-10 articles) is a decent price.

I personally like to write my own articles despite the fact that it is time-consuming. I like the fact that it is my voice and that I learn what I have to write about through the research and experimenting.

For Internet marketing newbies, the first block may be not knowing what to write about. When you are new, you do not feel like an authority in anything. How do I come up with an article when I do not know enough about anything? You may ask.

The answer is "Quite the contrary!" You have a lot more to write about when being the newbie than a veteran to some extent. Anything you are learning can be committed to paper. This is much like a school paper. You have to do some research, carry out the experiment, share the results (or sometimes not necessarily), and reach a conclusion.

Some areas where you may find plenty to write about are:

- how each of your affiliate programs works

- how you solved a problem in building your home biz

- new things you've learned and your thoughts on them

- your views and revelations in your area of interest

- resources that you have found that have worked well for you

- documenting you success experience with step by step instruction

Covering various topics in these areas may also gradually establish you as an authority in building your home biz online.

If the above suggested areas of topics are too vague for you, there is another way that is more specific. Visit Internet marketing related forums (e.g. Warriorforum). Pay attention to what questions people are asking. Make those questions your assigned topics to write about. Do the necessary research (if you do not already know the answer) and document your findings and conclusions. Since the same questions are asked over and over again by different people, you may get a chance to share your findings at a later opportunity, which will in turn build you a solid backlink (when you plant your web url in your signature).

Still another specific way to find what to write about is to read what other people have written. Then, try to rehash the same content in your own words adding your own spin to it. It is better that you add some new and/or unique input to the original content. This is not difficult to do as we are all so opinionated and find ourselves disagreeing with each other easily and often.

It is also advisable to keep a list of topics you want to write about. If you are like me, you will have days when you feel extremely inspired that you have something to say about everything. Those are usually the times when you only have enough time to do perhaps one article. Other times, you are dealt the writer's block where you just cannot think of anything to write about. Experience tells me that it is a smart habit to get into to note down all the things you want to comment/write about in your brief moments of inspiration. These notes, though it takes some discipline to keep, will prove to be little sparkles of intellect when your mind goes through the duller phase.

Amazing Article Marketing - 3 Phenomenal Steps to Advance with Article Marketing

If you are reading this article, there is a huge chance that you are already writing and distributing your articles online to promote your products and your website but you can't seem to attract enough search engine traffic. You are also probably looking for ways on how you can advance in this technique not only to popularize your website and augment your sales potential but also to get ahead of the pack.

Well, wait no more. Here are the 3 phenomenal steps to help you advance with article marketing:

1. Carefully choose your topic. Stick with those that can help you drive quality traffic or people who are most likely to make a purchase to your website. By this, I mean if you are selling perfume you can write topics like "how to properly use perfumes", "the importance of perfume", "perfume - the perfect gift for your loved ones", etc. These topics will attract those people who are deeply interested in what you sell. Thus, this can lead not only to increase traffic but improved sales potential as well.

2. Use striking titles. The role of your titles in your article marketing campaign is to grab the attention of online users to increase the chances of your articles being open and read online. Keep this in mind when writing your titles so you can effectively make them more interesting, intriguing, and striking.

3. Consider your target market. Do not forget the needs of your potential audience when writing your content. If you want your readers to fully trust you and consider doing business with you, you must be able to target their needs and wants. Strive to answer their questions or offer solutions to their problems so they will treat your content as valuable and useful to their lives.

Buying Articles for the Web

Offering free content on yours or others business Web site is a crucial part of Internet marketing. In fact, thats how Internet marketing got started, which is why everyone wants and expects something for nothing on the World Wide Web. Theyve always been getting it.

The public has come to expect Internet information to be free, and those most-often searched keywords are what will take consumers to your Web site. Once youve determined the most visited keywords in your industry, youll want to write or find articles that incorporate them.

If youre not a good writer, or you dont have the time it takes to write articles, you can use the articles of others. You can offer local writers or industry experts to contribute articles in return for their bio which gives their own site and business credibility, branding and traffic. Or you can buy articles from people you dont know. One way of doing this is through an article membership site. Here youll find articles on just about any subject, with new ones added all the time.

There are many sites that offer articles and memberships to help your Internet marketing. The catch, however, is that each invariably limits its membership ranks so that the Internet marketing articles dont get published too often. You may have to do some searching, or some waiting, to get a membership in the Internet marketing article membership site of your choice.

Once you are a member and you find the articles you want to publish your Internet marketing work is not done, however, You have to do some rewriting, making it not only fresh and unique to your site, but also giving it a little tweak so it talks directly about your industry, and, if possible, about your products or services.

You may find an article or articles that particular fit your Web site and your business but the keywords you need arent found that densely in the article. So youll need to do that. Thats fairly easy to do, and far easier than sitting down and writing your own article.

Never take an article from an article membership site and publish it verbatim. This is destructive to your Internet marketing concept. You want to make it yours your voice, your personality and your products. You might even find a lengthy article that you could use as a tease, publishing the first part and then offering the conclusion next week. You might also publish a newsletter a great Internet marketing tool. You start the article in the newsletter and refer readers to your site for the conclusion.

Whatever you do, make it yours. Your Internet marketing will succeed as a result.

How to Use Article Marketing to Build Credibility

One of the great uses of article marketing is that of creating credibility. You see, when you write articles and submit them to multiple article directories online, they not only are posted on the article directories themselves, but are also posted on the many niche web sites that use articles as content.

Ask yourself this: if you were thinking about hiring one of two people to do work for you, or to learn from, and you were to google their name, and one of the people showed over 10,000 results, mostly articles and reviews about that person, and the other person showed less than 100 references to their name or site, which would you feel is more credible?

If you are like me, you probably would rather work with the person who has over 10,000 web sites referencing him or her, than work with the person with less than 100.

One of the great things about article marketing is that it can very quickly build up massive numbers of links and references to you and your web site, giving you the quick advantage of perceived credibility.

So how do you do it?

Here is my 3 step plan for building credibility online:

1) Write articles on your niche topic

2) Put links in your articles that go back to your web site

3) Submit the articles to as many article directories as possible (I currently submit my articles to a list of about 150 article directories).

By following this 3 step system, you will very quickly gain credibility online, and position yourself to receive some of the business your competitors are currently receiving.

Article Marketing Management - The Winning Article Marketing Management Strategy

If you are reading this, then you must either be an article marketer or you want to be one. Whether you are a beginning article marketer or an expert you need a great article marketing management system. Without managing your articles you will not know where your visitors are coming from and what is making you money. Read on to discover the top article marketing management system.

The first thing you need to do is start testing different resource boxes. This can be done with one single article or with multiple articles. Basically you want to create 4 different versions of the resource box for the same article. Then, you need to submit the article to four different article directories, each with different resource boxes. Wait about a week and check to see how many clicks you had on each resource box.

Make sure you break it down into a percentage of clicks compared to views since you will get more clicks from better article directories than others. After you have done this you can go ahead and change all of your articles to the best resource box you have. This will give you the best chance to get the most clicks from your articles. This tip alone can triple your clicks.

The second thing you need is a tracking system. Your tracking system needs to keep track of views, clicks, sales, and list sign ups. This will give you a good idea of how your articles are performing and you can figure out which articles are your best and continue to use the strategy that you used for them.

Article marketing is always a learning process and you need to continually be learning from your own articles. With this type of article marketing management you will be able to keep on top of your performance and know what is going on with your articles.

Article Marketing In 10 Minutes

If you want to become a great article marketer, you have to realize, your articles are not supposed to be great! Your articles have to be good! Not great! We aren't writing a work of art here people. We're just writing simple articles.

Don't try to create the perfect article. Chances are, that when you do, you will create a bad article. Your article will either be too long or too boring. Of course you don't want this! You want your articles to be entertaining and short at the same time. The shorter the better! Don't sit down writing a brainstorm, and then a rough draft! This is a horrible article marketing tactic!

As an article marketer, time is everything. By the time your done writing a brainstorm and your rough draft, and you finally type in your final draft, you can already have 10 or more articles waiting to be submitted, rather than having just 1 waiting to be submitted!

10 good articles, are way better than just 1 great article! As an article marketer, you need to know, that in order to get your market to notice you, you have to create the most amount of articles the fastest in order to win. If you don't, your just going to be left in the dust! Your article marketing strategy should be to write as many articles you can in the time that you have available. Don't try to write perfect articles, just write good articles! Good enough articles where your reader can get information out of it.

Just make it good, not great. Only when you shoot for trying to create a good article, will you actually create a great article.

3 Tips To Rapidly Maximize Your Efforts From Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the most reliable methods of traffic generation. The reason for this is that unlike search engine optimization you are not at the mercy of the latest algorithm changes. The more articles that you publish the more likelihood that your articles will be published on other websites increasing the amount of traffic sources for your business and ultimately your numbers for lead generation and sales.

In this article I would like to go over the three things that have helped me to significantly improve my efforts from article marketing.

1) Create a killer title for your article

When I first started doing article marketing I wrote very boring titles. When I started to write interesting titles I noticed that the results for my articles doubled or tripled. This will have a measurable impact on your article marketing efforts. If your title is boring nobody will actually read your article.

2) Send your traffic to a squeeze page

One of the biggest mistakes that most internet marketers make is that they send all their traffic to a sales page. Very few people will actually buy from a sales page page the very first time that they see it. The reason for this is that you need to first build trust and credibility with your visitors. They need to have at least seven email contacts with you before you can do a hard sell to a subscriber. So by sending all your traffic to a squeeze page it will help you to significantly improve your conversion and to also build a list of highly targeted prospects that you can convert to customers.

3) Offer a free ebook that your prospect can download

One of the steps that I noticed significantly improved my conversion of visitors to subscribers is that by offering an ebook it was seen as a lot more valuable than a free report.

7 Benefits of Article Marketing

Many business owners spend lots of time trying to get articles published in magazines and publications related to their niche. While this is one strategy, publishing articles online has, as I have discovered from personal experience a number of specific benefits.

1. You set the schedule

Articles can be submitted any time you like. The article banks are open 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. As a result you get to submit articles when it is convenient for you rather than being constrained by publishing deadlines.

2. Speed

Articles submitted to article banks are available to readers immediately. In those cases where there is a review process, it is normally completed in a few days. This means that if you wanted to you could have 5 or 10 articles on an article bank within a week.

3. Perception

When you start to publish articles online you start to build a reputation as an expert or authority on particular topics.

4. Web site traffic

Article banks generally allow you to include a short description of your business and a link back to your web-site which helps you get more web site visitors.

5. List building

Most people who have a web site are selling either products, services or both. When people come to your site having read your article, you can capture their details in return for offering a free e-course or report. These subscribers can become future customers or sources of referral.

6. Search engine rankings

I don't claim to be anything other than someone with basic knowledge of search engines. What I have learned that backward links help with how your web site is ranked by search engines. Articles are an excellent source of backward links.

7. Others use your articles

Since I started using article marketing, I have had a number of approaches from other sites wanting to use my articles. This helps build more exposure for me and my business and can do the same for you.

Clearly there are many ways in which you can market your business and if you enjoying writing and sharing your knowledge, article marketing could be a valuable part of your marketing strategy.

5 Important Things to Keep a Successful and Expanding Business

There are endless aspects involved in running a smooth business. Because so much is actually involved in keeping your business growing and running once it has expanded to a certain level the two most important things I consider to be necessary for business are; Having organization and a well planned schedule and setting up organized and well planned systems to handle most of the endless things your system needs without really needing you.

It's important to have a schedule; it's great to have a schedule that works. By mapping out your day, you have timelines to stick to. This will help you keep from getting distracted, if you know you have one hour to answer all you e-mails you won't spend thirty minutes on one with your cousin. This will also keep you from mindlessly browsing web pages in search of new ideas for your business and instead you will stay focused on expanding the business you actually have.

However, Probably one of the biggest set backs in internet business and MLM internet marketers have in expanding the profit potential of one of their business projects is that most independent internet business owners are unorganized in managing their projects.

When you set up a system to complete a task you are creating of more profitable business plan. However, if you are constantly intervening into that system, you have spent the time building the system, the money paying the people in the system, and you are still doing the work of the system. It doesn't make sense to outsource activities only to read and edit the entire activity for the duration of the project. You need to have everyone in the system be certain of their roles and what is expected. A good flow chart is necessary and other educational tools to make sure, in the beginning, people know what they have to do so you won't worry about it later.

And probably the most important thing to truly exploding your MLM business is educating your down line and providing them with systems to duplicate what you do. One of the products I sell holds a thousand dollar commission, when my team is duplicating the act of selling and sending thousand dollar commissions up to me we're all even happier. I run a happy team who is grateful for all the resources and education I provide as well as having a front line of sixty mini-me's now each making me the type of profits I used to make me. After developing all my systems and getting my business on auto-pilot really the only thing I focus on now is educating my down-lines so they can do the same.

Free Internet Marketing Classes - How To Quickly Become an Internet Marketing Expert

Free Internet marketing classes I thought was a pipe dream, why would anyone share their knowledge with total strangers? So I bought e-books, I joined programs, I bought leads, I did what 99% of people before and after me have done, and unfortunately will continue to do, and which for the most part will be totally in vane. You know I keep hearing that up to 98% of what is offered as online income opportunities are scams, schemes and ripoffs and I must say, after almost 8 years at this I must agree. So how does the average person find a legitimate online business and discover how to become an Internet Marketing expert?

A few years back I was fortunate enough to meet a group of Internet marketing experts that were willing to share their knowledge and expertise with me. I started to realize you don't need to spend money on programs that require a monthly autoship to succeed online. These free Internet marketing classes that I attended taught me that most of the tools that are needed to learn how to become an Internet Marketing expert are free, you just have to know where to look for them.

I was so fortunate to have this knowledge because it started to open many doors of opportunity for me that I never thought I would have. I am and will remain forever grateful to those special individuals for their unselfish and giving attitudes, that are what has made me the success I am today. True success takes effort, commitment and a never give up attitude.

Web Marketing Made Easy With Ghostwriters

As an online businessperson, if you've never heard of ghostwriters, you surely don't know what you're missing. A ghostwriter can help you make tons of money with your business and you get all the credit! That's what a ghostwriter does. You pay one simple fee and they write articles, press releases, blog posts, and even sales letters for you. The trick is that they don't get the credit. It is work for hire, and you retain all copyrights, so you are able to place your name on the article or other piece and claim it as your own.

The Benefits of Ghostwriters

There are scads of benefits that you gain when you hire a ghostwriter to help you with your articles or other writing needs. One of the most important is that you are able to claim the article as your own. As a matter of fact, many ghostwriters are proficient at mimicking styles, so if you're a writer but just don't have the time to work, you can show them a piece that you have done in the past. They should then be able to craft a new article or other piece and have it match your writing style and tone. Because they are accustomed to article marketing tactics and such, you are able to put the work into their hands and focus on other important aspects of your business.

Should you need a press release to get the word out about your site or blog, a ghostwriter is the perfect person to handle something like this. Ghostwriters are becoming so huge that some of the most popular marketers and even celebrities utilize them. While you may not need anything this complicated, the truth is that you can gain huge success in the online marketing business.

What Can They Do For You?

With web marketing, business people can utilize articles for many different reasons. Articles for your website are very important as they help you with your placement in the search engines as long as they are optimized correctly, which any good ghostwriter can ensure. When you are in web marketing, article marketing campaigns are great, and a ghostwriter can help you craft quality articles to submit to article marketing directories, as well as even submitting them for you. Many business people who have niche websites value ghostwriters very much because of their ability to create quick, great content for these websites.

Ghostwriters are a wonderful resource to marketers or other business people. Should you decide to hire a ghostwriter for your article needs, remember to give them details and outlines of what you want, as well as resource links and even sample articles that you would like to serve as inspiration for your project. These tips and the ones above will really help you get a great ghostwriter and improve your business through the use of one. Good luck with all of your online business ventures!

Article Marketing Insights by a Real Article Marketer

Article Marketing Insights by a Real Article Marketer

Dont take offense to that if you are a real article marketer. And I will let you determine what a real article marketer is.

But one of the things I have observed online is that there are roughly 100 people or less who make a full time income online using article marketing. I call them real article marketers. Then there are people who are actually article marketing, but just do it part time and I dont know the number of this group.

But I can tell you this. At the time you are reading this, I have over 1300 articles published online, and all of them are set up in such a way that I get traffic to my web site from them every single day.

The articles are my lifeblood they drive the traffic that makes me a living.

In the process of writing and publishing 1300 articles, I have developed some insights. The first insight is that there are two purposes to article marketing.

One purpose is that of generating backlinks to your web site. To do that you need to write a few articles and submit them to hundreds of article directories.

The other purpose of article directories is to write multiple articles and submit them to a few directories, the top few directories in terms of traffic.

Another insight I have had is that you cannot accurately measure article marketing results after 20 articles, or even 100 articles. I have been article marketing for over 8 months now, and I still get traffic from the very first articles I published over 8 months ago. This means that there is a cumulative effect of time on my articles. If I had measured the success of my articles that first month I would have only been measuring 1/8 of the total time that my article is online. And if I try to do a complete measurement right now, I would only get half of the result that I will if I measure in another 8 months. What about 5 years from now?

It is impossible for me to even imagine the total impact of my articles after 5 years on the internet.
