It has been my experience that you need to become proficient at all of these functions to be wildly successful with article marketing. You need to be able to write a great quality article, submit it to the article directories using the many small tips and strategies I teach that get your articles picked up more often, know and use the many different ways to market your article, and how to create information products with your articles do you can make direct income from your articles.

Without fail, every single person who has told me that article marketing did not work for them or does not work at all, has had a gap somewhere in these four essential skills.

If you can get better at writing, it will definitely help your odds of being able to write about your topic; too many people forget that you need to be an expert in not just your field, but need to be able to write about it as well.

Look at the first paragraph of this article. Did it draw you in? Did it help you to determine that this article had value? Make the opening emotionally impacting by grabbing the reader's attention and identifying with their PAIN!

3. YOUR ARTICLE MARKETING MUST DELIVER VALUE.

It must offer them a solution to their problem. GIVE AWAY YOUR SECRETS! Don't be afraid to give your reader what they need for FREE. Chances are they are going to recognize that they would rather work with an expert than try to solve this problem on their own. Give someone a fish and they have dinner tonight. Teach them to fish and they can feed themselves forever. But open a grocery store down the street and chances are, they'll buy the fish from you. People only have so much time in their days and if they find a trustworthy source that can make their life easier or their business more profitable, they are going to take you up on it!

4. YOU MUST USE YOUR KEYWORDS WITHIN YOUR TEXT.

The search engines are going to identify each article by the words within it. So you have to be thinking about how people are going to find you. What words are they going to use in their searching? There are so many resources on the net that can help you determine the right keywords. Find one and use it. Then repeat those words throughout your article (just shy of being irritating about overusing them) and you'll find greater success!

5. LASTLY, YOUR ARTICLE MARKETING MUST PROVIDE A CALL TO ACTION.

Lead the reader to do something. Whether it be to download your eBook, call you directly, or click onto your website. Typically, you want to lead them to the next thing they can get for FREE. People like FREE. So lead them to your website, where they can download an eBook that solves this same problem but in more depth, or better yet, offer them a FREE strategy session if they contact you by email. Make it easy for them, like "Hey, I'll even have my assistant set up a time for me to talk to you directly for 20 minutes about ways you can build your business based on these principles. FREE."

Drive More Traffic to Your Website With Your Web Page Title!

One of the most overlooked, but important components, on your web page is the Meta title. The Meta title is the text or page title found at the top left of your browser window and it is also the title saved when a web site visitor bookmarks your website. Some people will argue that search engines put little or no value on the title tag, but regardless of how the Meta title figures into the ranking algorithm, the title tag is still critical to driving new and repeat traffic to your website.

Countless sites under-utilize this title space by entirely forgetting to name their pages (untitled document) or name their page something completely useless or generic (welcome to our site, or home). An untitled document or home bookmark will do little to help encourage repeat visitors to your website. Either the visitor will have to take time to rename your bookmark or they will completely forget what the bookmark is for.

Not only does the title tag provide the bookmark name, but it also determines the clickable link that is displayed on the Search Engine Results Page (SERP).

Follow these tips on writing an effective and useful title tag.

  1. The Meta Title tag should summarize the contents of each individual page. This means you should always wait until your content has been written before choosing your title tags. Your Title tag should be useful and informative. Remember that your title tag is what shows up as the clickable link that brings visitors to your site through the search engines and what shows up when the visitor bookmarks your site.
  2. Base your title tag on keyword phrases. There are many resources and applications online that will help you determine the popular search terms that relate to your website content. (These are the same keyword phrases that should be scattered in your page content and Meta keyword tag and Meta Description Tag) Make sure you use these terms in your title where appropriate. Obviously, it is important that you do not over do the keywords to the point that the title becomes useless.
  3. Limit your title to 50-60 characters including spaces. Some browsers actually show many more characters but for those that dont, if you use more characters your title will be cut off. More importantly the number of characters displayed on the SERP is definitely fixed. So any wording longer then 50-60 characters will not help drive any customers to your site simply because your potential visitors will not see it!
  4. Search engines ignore (or dont index) stop words, so avoid using them in your title. Stop words are common words that really dont help determine the true content of your site. Examples of stop words are: the, with, to, also, an, and, as, at, be, because. Space is already limited in your title tag, so there is no sense wasting space on words that will be ignored by the Search Engines and really wont help bring any new traffic to your site.

  5. Always use a different Meta title on each of the pages in your website. Your content is different on each page of your site, so your title should be different on each page too.
  6. Basically, you can bring more visitors to your website site by keeping your Title Tags simple and meaningful.

Article Marketing - Where Should You Submit Your Articles?

One of the questions I often get about article marketing is where should the articles be submitted to. There are often two choices:

1) You can submit them to your own blog/website

2) You can submit them to article directories

Personally, I would submit my articles everywhere, even on forums. It doesn't matter. If you choose to rewrite them when you submit them to different places, then that is ok. Submit them everywhere to get maximum leverage out of each article.

While content is important, if there is no traffic, nobody is going to read it. So definitely look at building backlinks. You don't exactly need tons of content to get the spiders coming. But you do require tons of backlinks to increase your search engine rankings. And the more backlinks you have, the better off your website will be.

What I'd suggest is that for submissions to your own website, add your content in gradually on a weekly or fortnightly basis. This gives the search engine spiders fresh content to spider, so that will keep your search engine rankings high.

For article directories, I'd suggest submitting to the top directories. If you want to generate hundreds or even thousands of backlinks, then use an article submitter like Submit Your Article.   1. Writing in bullet points is a great way to write article faster. Instead of trying to think of a way to make a sentence that connects your last sentence to the next one, you can just put up a bullet point. This is a fast way to write an article, and readers love it when you use bullet points.

  2. Using the backspace button will decrease your articles submission rate. Try your best not to use the back space. The more you use it, the slower your article writing becomes. The backspace button is your enemy!

  3. Do not write rough drafts and brain storms. This will decrease your article writing time. By the time your done writing the brainstorm and rough draft, you could have already written more than 5 articles waiting to be submitted. So don't write rough drafts or articles. This vastly decreases your article writing time.

  4. Writing without thinking is one of the best ways to write a fast article. Don't stop to think if your last sentence was good or not. Chances are that it was good enough. Just write and don't think about what to write about. Just do it. Let your subconscious flow through your fingertips and let your hands write you a successful article.

There's no doubt about it, writing articles and submitting them to directories is the absolute best way to market any website on the Internet. However, many novices don't understand how to properly market your website with this method.

Most marketers submit one or two articles a week (I was one of them). If you do this, you will get tiny results from your efforts. You absolutely need to write dozens of articles every single week.

How in the world can you come with five new articles every single day? Don't worry, when you reach the end of this article, this won't be a secret for you anymore.

Just follow these simple steps:

1. The Outline.

Beware, don't write the title first because it will take a lot of your time. Just think about a topic and write it down. Then, do the same for your four articles.

You can do this in the same or different niches.

2. A few bullet point

Then, take each sentence you wrote from the first step above and add a few bullet points to each one. Do this fast. each bullet will become a paragraph.

3. Expand

Now, just add one single phrase under each bullet. When you reach the last bullet, quickly come back to the first and add something. Do this for all your other bullets. It is important to do this very fast.

4. Polish

You are almost done. All you need to do is to add an introduction and a conclusion to your articles. In the intro, just say that you will talk about the bullets.

5. The Headline

Now, quickly read your finished article and it less than 30 second, come with a headline, and then a second one. Choose the best one!

6. Spellcheck

Now, you need to spellcheck your article. When you write fast, you have typos, so be sure to fix those or your article will be rejected and you won't get any traffic from it.

7. The resource box

Your bio box should be done even before the article. If you didn't do it yet, add it to your resource box template in the article directory.

Critical Steps To Online Success-Do You Need Help Building Your List?

Have you been trying to build your list, but it's just not happening?

Have you tried article writing but that didn't work either?

Are your articles getting opened, but you're not getting click thrus to your squeeze page?

There could be a number of reasons for this.

If your articles are getting opened then your title must be OK.

The next critical step is to have 2 or 3 short strong opening sentences or paragraphsI've covered how to do this in an earlier articleyou can probably find it if you search my name in the index.

If you've done both those things and you're still not getting many click thrus then you are losing them in the bodythe "information segment" of your article.

After the promise of the title and the opening paragraph you must continue to hold your readers' attention. You must now fulfill their expectations. Your information must be concise, informative and to the point. Give your reader information that will be useful to them; information that can be immediately put into action. Your purpose is wherever possible to provide information that will make a positive change in your reader's life.

But, whatever you writemake it count!

This is a performance you are stagingyour reader is your audience!

Have you ever been to a comedy show where the comic started to lose the audience? Often good manners will keep them in their seats for awhile but eventually if it gets bad enough they will leave.

You don't have the saving grace of good manners to keep your audience reading your article. If you're not delivering the goods in an interesting, informative and professional manner they will click away and look elsewhere.

If you think this might be an issue for you then perhaps you need to take some writing lessons?

Meantime, here are a few ideas that might help:

Create a plan for your article: opening, body, closing. A length of 300 to 500 words is a good size article.

Then set out 3 or 4 main points that you wish to cover in the body of your article, organize them into an order that lets the ideas flow, and devote a segment or paragraph to each.

Use numbered points if appropriate.

Break up your paragraphs-keep them short.

People don't like reading text in big blocks; it's hard to keep your place. So make sure there's lots of white space. I like to use semi-colons, dashes and 3 dots to allow me to make a series of short strong statements rather than a long run-on sentence.

Vary your sentence lengthsshort, medium and long.

Make statements and let them stand out as a single line.

Don't repeat words in close proximity to each other. And finally: "write in haste and correct at leisure". If the ideas are flowing just get them down fast. You can easily come back and clean it up later.

I am sure that if you have a dynamic website i.e. a website using a scripting language like php or asp then you will probably have problems with the search engines indexing your web site. I had a website using php and I had serious trouble to get the search engines to index it.

Now the main problem comes in that you usually will have a dynamic page and that page will reference other dynamic pages to represent the information in your database. Usually search engines do not follow other dynamic pages from a dynamic page. Also all your content will look identical as they will have the same title and heading tags with the content from the database being different.

The way to get around this problem is to first design your php code to represent the title and heading tags based on your database. So for example if you have a classified web site the title of the page will become the title of the advertisement and similarly you can make the heading this as well. This will give you unique pages that Google will index better since Google does understand dynamic pages as long as the content is unique.

Now to get around the second problem you would have to design static pages that you link to from your home page. Each static page can represent a category so for example if you have a car classifieds website you can create a different static page representing a different model e.g. Ford cars. Now from this static page you will have to create new code to link to all the detailed pages based on this category. Your detail pages will be dynamic pages based in php or asp.

Finally, ensure that you have a site map as this will make it easier for Google to understand your website properly.
